Speed Indicator Device

The Speed Indicator Device has been installed by Newton Parish Council in order to monitor the speed of vehicles along the 30mph stretch of the A134 through the village.

The SID will be moved between the 2 posts in the village on a four-weekly basis and the data recorded of all vehicle movements past the SID during the period will be shown on this page.

Automatic Number Plate Recognition

Suffolk County Council are piloting ANPR systems throughout Suffolk.  Newton is part of the scheme and the results of the surveys to date are shown below:
